Hope Island is the home of Gaia and the Planeteers.
The only place on Earth where Gaia could take corporeal form while retaining her spiritual status, Hope Island is located near the Bahamas[1], and is a beautiful island full of lush gardens, clean beaches, and a magical Crystal Chamber that serves as Gaia's and the Planeteers' headquarters: before each mission, the Planeteers would gather in the chamber to be briefed by Gaia, who would illustrate her briefings through the chamber's Planet Vision (a crystalline screen that could not only show the past and present, but also the possible outcome of any ecological situation). The Planeteers also have separate sleeping quarters on the island.
As revealed in Heat Wave, Hope Island also shares a direct link with Gaia's health, so if it dies, she would as well.
